The Quartz Ensemble is Northern Arizona’s newest professional choir. Bringing together singers from across Arizona and the west coast, the ensemble’s mission is to bring the highest quality choral singing to the tri-cities area, while also challenging ideas and assumptions of what classical choral music can be. Founded in 2021, Quartz hopes to form connections between artists and audiences in an attempt to bring hope and beauty into the Prescott, Arizona area, from which our name is derived from.

We are thrilled to be collaborating with The Arizona Philharmonic for our debut concert on May 2nd! Keep an eye on this space as we continue to dream and build in the coming 2021-2022 season!

Bach, Vivaldi, Vaughan Williams, and Pärt…

The word Baroque means the juxtaposition of elements; the tension of two emotions. This synthesis of emotions was a hallmark of composers of the 17th and 18th-centuries. Composers of the 20th-century also found inspiration in the joining of two disparate parts to create unique worlds of sound.  Join musicians from Arizona Philharmonic, guest conductor Joshua Harper, baritone soloist Steven Berlanga, and the debut performance of the professional chorale group Quartz Ensemble as we explore the balance of old and new, choir and orchestra.
